AUDITION CALL-OUT: Maternity Cover Dancer Position (x1)

We are seeking one highly skilled, versatile, and expressive professional dancer (female-identifying) to join The Natashas Project on a maternity cover basis for our production of On Demand. There may be potential for future engagement with the company beyond this initial contract.


TNP believes in ethical wages and pays above the equity minimum to our artists.


We actively encourage applications from artists of all backgrounds but in this instance are particularly keen to hear from those who identify as part of the global majority and those from underrepresented or marginalised backgrounds.

Please note to honour everyone’s time we will only be inviting a very small number of people along to audition as we are only looking for one dancer to join us at this stage so please read the criteria carefully before applying.


Essential Criteria:

⭐️Minimum of three years of professional dance training.

⭐️Strong physical presence and performance ability.

⭐️Quick to pick up existing repertoire.

⭐️Genuinely aligned with the ethos and values of the company.

⭐️Open to creative risk-taking and physical/emotional challenge.

⭐️Skilled in embodied character work.


Key Dates:

Audition Date: Wednesday 13 August, time and location TBC (will be in the morning and no longer than 2 hours)

Productions

On Demand

(45 mins followed by 20 mins Q&A with the dancers and local experts)

This trailer contains images and sounds that could be upsetting as the dancers portray the emotional impact of modern slavery.

On Demand is a contemporary dance/physical theatre production revealing depths and effects of human trafficking and modern day slavery. This Production shares with audiences the physical and psychological effects this issue has on the body and mind. OD sets out to challenge your perceptions and assumptions through an array of impacting images and scenarios of manipulation, control and dehumanisation, ultimately leaving the audience questioning their actions and choices. Filled with vibrant characters, unique vulnerable physicality, an original score by James Keane and new script by Sarah Amankwah that highlights the juxtaposition of society and the issue at hand.

Pop up performances

We offer bespoke pop up performances using sections of both productions (On Demand + Natashas). These are perfect for surprise conference performances, pop up street performances and more.

NATASHAS is a contemporary dance/physical theatre production that takes audiences on a journey of lost innocence and the realities of the sex slave industry around the world today.
